fix: scope the fork guard, fall back on any pool failure, reject sliver sweeps
From an internal review round:
- A forked child now runs serially only if its parent had touched a worker
pool; a child forked before that builds its own, instead of every
multiprocessing fork worker running single-threaded.
- Explicit thread counts fall back to serial when their pool cannot be
built, like automatic parallelism; run_with_parallelism can no longer fail.
- threads=N no longer builds the automatic pool alongside its own, and a
RAYON_NUM_THREADS automatic pool is reused only when its size matches.
- The per-resolution ring cache is reserved fallibly and falls back to the
uncached path instead of aborting.
- A sweep segment the general path rejects now raises like cover_polygon
instead of keeping a convex test that reached far past a sliver.
- The interval solver places endpoint cells with grid::center's arithmetic.
- Document the remaining rounding-level tie disagreement, drop dead finite
checks, document Sum's copy and errors, require pytest 9 in CI, skip the
RLIMIT tests where the limit cannot work, and test all keyword-only calls. Latest Branches
